Doing the Rounds to premiere at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music

Michael Nyman will unveil a world premiere work titled Doing the Rounds at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music as the Con’s International Marquee Composer 2011.

Nyman’s new work is the most eagerly anticipated addition yet to the Con’s flagship centenary project – “101 Compositions for 100 Years.”

Doing the Rounds was commissioned by the Dean and Principal of the Con, Professor Kim Walker, as a centrepiece event of the Sydney icon’s 2015 centenary project.

A new work for choir, orchestra and band augmented with extra percussion, guitar and saxophone, it will be performed by the Sydney Conservatorium of Music Symphony Orchestra and Large Choir under Maestro Imre Palló.
