Concert starts at 15.00. Michael Nyman is taking part in a concert in support of the charity PAPYRUS (prevention of teenage suicide). He’s appearing at the invitation of Andy Findon, a long time member of the Michael Nyman Band, whose brother committed suicide in 1969, aged 15. Gary Findon was the subject of a BBC2 programme presented by his schoolfriend, Michael Portillo, who is introducing the concert. Apart from Michael’s music, included in the programme are works composed by Gary, which lay undiscovered until the making and researching of the programme. Also performing are Andrew Marriner, Guy Barker, Anthony Saunders, Wu Qian and Ross Stanley. All artists are appearing for no fee and all proceeds go directly to PAPYRUS http://www.papyrus-uk.org/
